Samsung star wifi or samsung star 3g phones are sleaky trendy phones in present generation with lot of features enabled in them. Though these phones come with bunch of applications, designs already installed, human mind likes to explore and add more features to this phone. Its really good to have our own customized themes installed on our favorite phone. So do u like to install some theme on your phone and show to your friends? why delay, lets rock.

I myself started liking it so badly that i cannot stop playing with it and add some new feature to it. Here is one of them, “the How to install theme on your samsung star GT-S5233, star 3G GTs5603, GT-s8003″. I found this after researching on net for couple of hours. thanks to kartik for sharing such an information with us.

Before starting our theme installation we shall follow strictly the below note point.

NOTE: preserve the phone book contacts and important documents by taking back up. please dont complain me later avoiding this note point.I am not responsible if you mess up with your phone.

So now, lets start our experiment.

This is the default black theme that is available.

• Download softwares called TK FILE EXPLORER AND BITPIM
• connect your phone using usb cable.
• make sure that pc studio is not running and its not monitoring your device…. i.e. completely close it .
• open BitPim and follow the below commands (you can skip these steps if you want.)
  1. click on settings–> ComPort option would be there (5th option)
  2. –> click on browse
  3. –> then a “choose a comm port window will open
  4. –> in the available ports portion — search for SAMSUNG USB Mobile Modem
  5. –> click on that– then you can see its description down there…..
  6. –> scroll down and there you will see —-
  7. name COMXX (here XX can be any no. in every individual case as per you com) (in my case it is COM4)
  8. –> now note down this com port name.(just remember the port name )
  9. –>now without closing BitPim , open TK file explorer
  10. –>in TK file explorer , click on setting — COM
  11. –>then inside port option manually write the com name that you saw in BitPim
  12. –> click ok and then click file — connect
• your phone will be connected to TK file explorer.
• now download the nv_original.ini file that is taken from XEII4 firmware
• download it from here http://www.4shared.com/file/146853253/f5f85cf1/nv_original.html
• the link has been checked and works fine. it is file of ” Baltic ” folder. i have added the line that needs to be added to make the dark theme (black theme), so you just have to transfer the file .
• after this …… do these steps in TK file explorer–
• steps for this method –>
• connect your phone and connect to tk file explorer
• open systemFS –> settings –> preconfiguration –> Baltic –> NV –> put this file there.
• to put this file … you can see two windows in tk file ….. just on the upper window go wherever you have this file and drag down in the NV folder of Baltic
• After this close tkfile….. and disconnect phone.
• Do preconfig on the phone
• dial *#6984125*# –> Pre-connfiguration –> *#73561*# — > select Baltic.
• phone will restart and then u have dark theme on it.
• but if u change for red or green back, it will be gone, u will need to do Pre-configuration again to see it.
  So if u like then just dont change it back to green or red.

Those who dont have baltic folder in their phones, follow these steps:
1. go to (using TKexplorer):
Phone –> systemFS –> settings –> preconfiguration –> Default –> NV –>

2. this folder should be empty.
copy the file: “nv_original.ini”
in this folder.

3. dial *#6984125*# (in keypad) –> Pre-configuration –> *#73561*# — >
here u should find a “default” option.

4.click on install, the phone will restart and ur new theme is installed.

1. Tap ‘Menu’

3. Tap ‘Home’: You can access homepage configured in your profile directly.

3. Tap ‘Enter URL’ : You can enter URL address you want to access and go to the site directly.
Method 3 :
1. Tap ‘Menu’
2. Tap ‘Browser’
3. Tap ‘Bookmark’ : You can select a preset bookmark for internet access.

In browsing screen, you can touch address input field and put URL address you want to access and go to that site.

1) Check if the installed security updates for Windows are the latest available.

Go to Start, and Run Windows Update. (May require rebooting the PC.)

2) Check if Windows Update items are successfully installed.

XP:

① Go to Start.

② Go to Windows Update.

③ Review your update history, and check if each item’s installation has succeeded.

7) Register the msxml file.

To download images or pictures from internet to samsung star, follow these simple steps.
STEP 1. Selecting Menu, My files, and Images

Overview:

You can download image/picture through WAP using JET.

Solution:

To download images, follow the steps below:

1) From idle mode, select Menu.

2) Select the My files menu.

3) Select the Images folder.

STEP 2. Opening WAP site by selecting More pictures in the My photos folder

4) Select the My photos folder.

5) Select More pictures.

6) WAP site that user can download images is opened. (The WAP site could be different as below.)

STEP 3. Completing downloading the image

7) Follow the guide from WAP site.

Select the image that you want to download from list.

9) Complete the image download.

10) Users can also access the WAP site where they can download image contents directly through the Internet menu if it is possible to use Wi-Fi function.

I have got New Samsung S5233 AA, mobile on my birthday as a gift. So thought of sharing with you people. Here is my review about this samsung star mobile.

Look and Feel:

Samsung Star mobile with its stylish eye catching look is an outstanding phone and definitely the best product among the similar priced phones. It can be stated as the samsung’s best invention to supress the domination of LG’s Cookie at the 10k(INR) price level.  LG reduced the preices of its phone to stay ahead in the competition. But look wise i feel Samsung outplayed it.

Display and resolution:

Display Screen is a 7.62cm WQVGA resoluted full-touch screen. With Samsung’s TOUCHWIZ UI interface the digital touch experience is enlarged and the widget inerface is awesome and the best of its kind. Samsung has Omnia HD already with this touch screen and touchwiz Ui but s5233 is the only one in the midrange segment.

Storage capacity:

The storage capacity is 50MB internal where as the extendable memory is upto 8GB. The data access speed is quiet reasonable. With 8GB of its expandable slot, this phone becomes an all purpose  entertainment gadget.

Music Player and codec support:

Samsung uses the same Music player that is used in its other models. It widely supports all music formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+, WAV, WMA, e-AAC.

Camera :

s5233 gives the best shots at good lighting conditions  with its 3.2 MP pixel range and is below par in low lighting conditions . Overall Camera quality is OK.

GPRS and Internet:

Yes, It provides a Web2.0 GPRS and have good inbuilt features for techies like google earth, mail and chat functions etc. For a normal Internet surfer it comes with allmost all basic features.

Extra features:

The QWERTY keyboard is all set into action in this slimmy sleaky phone. I personally liked the feel of this qwerty keyboard while typing or sending mails and the best feature in this is the

Java Support and OS:

It has java support and the Operating System is proprietary. Smasung store has lot of applications to choose from.

Battery life:

Simply superb. It took 2 full days with 4hrs of talktime andwith few hrs of listening music, constant messages, Fm test etc before that white indicator started pumping in.

Cons: NON-3G and no wifi. But One cannot expect these for 9,350/- INR right??

Overall Experience: Reasonably good phone and recommended as the best choice for any person looking at the mid range Phones. Its better than LGs Cookie and far better than those normal phones from other vendors.

Samsung has begun its advertising campaign starting from today which is expected to culminate on August 13. The Ad campaign displays a silhouette of a digital camera that will tease you all these days after which it will be unveiled in five countries starting from New York, Beijing, Seoul, Bangkok and London.

The actual campaign is “Tap it, Take it Love it” as its Korean web site says.

Some phrases used for the campaign are that there will be revolutionary changes in the cameras that will be introduced and you can expect them to be lot different. The company also believes that their cameras will open a whole new approach to personal photography for consumers.

I do not know the wish list of consumers who are looking forward to the cameras from Samsung but here are a few guesses.

Going by the history of the company which is an electronic giant and not an optical giant you need not expect any changes in the lens system. But like Panasonic any revolutionary change in the lens could mean that they may also revert to the micro four third standard.

Samsung already makes use of dual image stabilization -both electronic image stabilization as well as the optical stabilization of the lens. That surely is a new technique that does not exist in the present day cameras in the U.S.

As the Ad campaign suggests “Tap and Take” might mean that they may be doing away with the good old shutter release mechanism and could be introducing touch responsive screen controlled shutter release.

The processor could certainly boast of improvements in the way the process is controlled and new features can be expected.

The software that is used for image retouching may be better.

The good old noise reduction techniques could have been given a fillip. That depends on the sensors used of course. Samsung already uses 14.7 MP in one of its cameras.

Korean vendor Samsung’s new solar powered phone is a very less investment if you are looking for a backup handset with unlimited power source. The firm launched the Samsung E 1107 unit, in India. Solar-powered handsets have long been in development, but this is the first to launch commercially.

An hour’s solar charge will only give enough power for a five- to ten-minute phone call. Still, that will almost certainly improve with time and the Samsung deserves a big green pat on the back for an important first step. An hour of solar charging, gives approximately 5 to 10 minutes of talk time, which means that in order to get 2 hours of talk time you need to keep this handset for a full day in the hot sun. The handset costs you just 60USD[2800INR]. There is no battery charger for mobile phones till now that has any other way to increase the battery levels.
