Installation

GreenPrint Computing installation needs  a dotNet Framework installed on your PC for GreenPrint to work. This is mandatory and if you don’t, it will download and install it for you.

Usage

GreenPrint runs quietly after installtion in the taskbar until ready to print.  GreenPrint is the default printer where all the documents should be printed. It will launch and analyze the page or pages you are printing out.

You can remove unnecessary images or text in the main user interface as this would print on 4 pages totally, you can choose to view all 4 or view them one at once or different combinations.

GreenPrint Computing gives you the tools to remove pages, text, or images that you don’t want to print, so you can save paper and ink.

The other feature in GreenPrint Computing is that you can print a document to PDF format which in itself saves  tons of paper and ink.  This option allows you to also leave in the extra pictures  or text in if you want.  Simply click on the PDF button next to the Print button at the top and then browse to the location to store it. It also tells you how much money was saved and the positive environmental affects.

The following results are just as good as using the other utilities like PDF Creator or the Microsoft Office 2007 PDF Add-in.

Conclusion

GreenPrint Computing is a very useful utility which offers several options for eliminating needless images and text from Word documents.  It is designed to help save paper, ink, money and energy which is essential for environment degradation. GreenPrintComputing is compatible only on Windows XP and Vista (32bit only) and there is also a beta version for Mac OSX.
