The customers can access these services at their finger tips and benefit from them.” 

The process of arranging blood is pretty agonizing as you have to call several blood banks or hospitals or may have to run from one blood bank to another for several hours to arrange one unit or several units of blood.

Airtel ‘Virtual Blood Bank’ service provides swift access to all Airtel customers who are in need of blood, the life saving element. All Airtel customers who are in need of blood will have to dial the toll free number 51514 from their Airtel mobiles. This IVR-based emergency helpline number will assist and guide the Airtel customer till the time his or her requirement of blood is met. This service will help the user to contact hospitals, blood banks and donors and will serve as a single point of contact for any blood requirement in advance or in an emergency. Mainly, Airtel’s aim is to bridge the gap between Blood Banks, donors and recipients of blood to the best extent possible.

Airtel has also launched a Vaccination Alert System on mobiles for its customers. It is called “VacciDate”, where all Airtel customers can subscribe to the VacciDate service free of cost and ensure their children are fully vaccinated in time. The Airtel VacciDate service is essentially for parents to keep track of their child’s vaccination dates. The key feature of VacciDate is the special alert feature for Polio Sundays organized by the Government of India.

The VacciDate service also allows customers to set the alerts basically for five vaccination dates. The customer can set two to four alerts for each vaccination date. These alerts would automatically alert the customers five days before the date of vaccination, one day before the date of vaccination and on the date of vaccination.

Airtel has launched these health care services on mobiles, enabling quick access to vital information for their mobile customers. All Airtel customers need to SMS VACC (Date of Birth in DD MM YYYY Format) to 52225.

Airtel and Vodafone have official rights to sell Apple iPhone mobile devices in India. Last year, they have sold many iPhone devices which were allowed to use with only one carrier i.e. Airtel or Vodafone. Apple does not allow unlocking of iPhone, but now the Air Tel services in India allow you to unlock an iPhone and the iPhone after being unlocked properly will run on Hutch, Air Tel, Idea etc.

I have gathered this information from the Air Tel web site (it displays the authorized unlocking of iPhone devices with Air Tel carrier) which authorizes you to unlock an Air Tel iPhone. It takes not more than 10minutes to get it activated and you can unlock it yourself for free. The screenshot of authorized unlocking from Apple’s website confirmed this facility. This program will verify that you have an account with the carrier and then give you instructions on how to activate your iPhone (insert a valid, active SIM and connect to iTunes). You can get information about iPhone 3G wireless carriers worldwide by selecting your country. Please make sure to check the email address that you have provided during “Activating your iPhone” in iTunes.

Before you activate your original iPhone, make sure you listen to your current voicemails. If you are transferring an existing number from another wireless operator, existing voice mails will not be transferred to the Air Tel network.

If you already have a SIM card note that not all SIM cards work with iPhone. You must use the SIM card included with your original iPhone for best results,

Important: Your iPhone can receive calls in as little as 15 minutes after activation. If you are migrating your current phone number, it can take longer too, may be up to several days, depending on the type and status of your former service account before calls are routed to iPhone. During the activation period you can make calls and use iPhone’s other features.

This facility of unlocking an air Tel iPhone may seem to work fine for some people and many may have complains about it; from a small error to some permanent unlock disabilities. It won’t affect your iPhone as it would be as it was before.
